President: Michelle Qazi
Michelle Qazi is also on the board of directors of the Academic Language Therapy Association National Board. She is also the Exhibits Chair for ALTA National. Michelle received her training through the Colorado Literacy and Learning Center where she completed the Literacy Intervention Specialist Certification Program. She has also received training in Really Great Reading, SPIRE, Linguistic Remedies, and is a DIBELS Trainer of Trainers. She is currently certified through ALTA as an Academic Language Therapist and is working on completing the necessary requirements for a Qualified Instructor certification. Michelle is employed at Children’s Hospital Colorado where she is the Assistant Clinical Manager of Learning Services.
President Elect: Alison Santa Maria
Alison Santa Maria, MAT, CALT earned membership to ALTA in 2014 at the Practitioner level and advanced to the Therapy level in 2016. In 2015, Alison was awarded the National ALTA Therapy Level Scholarship, recognizing her contribution to improving services for those with dyslexia. She has served on the ALTA-RMC board since 2015 in both the membership and marketing positions. She has loved her board service since the beginning and is proud to serve alongside such brilliant, talented, and inspiring women. Alison helped the board find their "north star", the vision and mission statements that both anchors and guides as they conduct all board business. The vision and mission of ALTA-RMC have since been carried out and into the lives of teachers, students, and community members, which makes Alison incredibly proud of what can be accomplished when you work together with purpose.
Alison works full-time in the private practice she founded, Springs Literacy Center. She has two wonderful employees that help her achieve a personal mission of helping dyslexic students in the Colorado Springs community succeed through research-based tutoring and intervention. She has big plans to expand the business into the nonprofit sector, hire more, provide more, and build a student-led community of dyslexic learners who know, care, and advocate for one another. In her free time, Alison loves spending time inside the pottery studio or outside on the trails with her husband Skye and their beloved dog, Hoagie.

Treasurer: Kevin Mebust
Since 2001, Kevin Mebust has served as a Special Education teacher for middle school students in the Englewood School District. He holds a Masters of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction through the University of Colorado-Denver where he was recognized as the Outstanding Graduate of his program. He competed his Literacy Intervention Specialist Certificate Program in 2017 and is certified through ALTA as an Academic Language Practitioner. He is proud to offer his services as Treasurer for the Rocky Mountain Chapter of ALTA. When not teaching, Kevin enjoys riding his bicycle, hiking, and traveling with his wife.

Tammy Jacobson, MA, MAT, CALP has been a member of ALTA since 2018. She received her training through the Colorado Literacy and Learning Center in conjunction with Colorado College where she is currently pursuing her masters degree in Literacy Intervention. Tammy also holds a masters degree in special education from UCCS. Tammy holds licenses in Special Education, Elementary Education, and Reading Teacher from the state of Colorado. She has additional training in IMSE-OG and HillRAP. Currently, she works as an elementary resource teacher in Academy School District 20 in Colorado Springs as well as in private practice at Front Range Reading Resource. In her free time, Tammy enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and running with her running team.

VP Membership and Membership Events: Nan Tirado
Nanette Tirado, MAT, CALT lives in Colorado Springs and received her training through The Colorado College Masters of Art in Teaching program. As a reading interventionist, Nan has been a member of ALTA since 2013 and became a Certified Academic Language Therapist in 2017. Currently, she has an active private practice in her home, working with students of all ages. In her free time, she enjoys reading, biking, cooking and spending time with her family.
VP Professional Development/ Community Outreach Programs: Jodi Champagne
Jodi Champagne, M.S.Ed-CALT received her training through the Colorado Literacy and Learning Center (CLLC) in Colorado Springs, Colorado where she completed the Literacy Intervention Specialist Certificate Program. Jodi became certified through ALTA as a Certified Academic Language Therapist in 2013 and joined the Board in 2016. Currently, Jodi works as Academic Support for Academy District 20, as an assistant visiting lecturer at Colorado College, and as an instructor for the CLLC. In her free time, Jodi loves watching college football, skiing with her family and reading.
VP Conferences/ Exhibits: Kim Fitzpatrick
Kimberly FitzPatrick received her training through the Colorado Literacy and Learning Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado where she completed the Literacy Intervention Specialist Certificate Program. Kim has her Masters of Arts in Teaching and has over 18 years of teaching experience, private therapy, and providing remediation at the Colorado Literacy and Learning Center. Currently, Kim works as a Learning Specialist with Children's Hospital Colorado. Kim is certified through ALTA as a Certified Academic Language Therapist. In her free time, Kim loves watching football and hockey, reading, and spending time with her family.
